2020 Masters Sleeper Picks And Longshots

masters preview

*2021 picks can be found here – Masters Sleeper Picks 2021*

For those of us that love to make betting picks for the Masters the long wait is over! Back in the beginning of the year when the Masters Tournament was cancelled no one knew if it would even be played in 2020 but thankfully the PGA Tour rescheduled it and here we are.

Personally I find that I have the best payouts during the Masters for betting at Intertops and for DFS contests at DraftKings.

If you are going to make any money betting on the Masters then you want to try to pick out the sleeper picks that have the higher payout odds to make it even more profitable for you. Keep in mind, in the last 20 years there have only been 5 long odds golfers to win the green jacket (Danny Willett, Charl Schwartzel, Ángel Cabrera, Trevor Immelman and Mike Weir). The rest of the winners were in the top third of the list in odds being no worse than 50-1. As tough as the course can be, you can use some Masters Betting Tips to narrow down the field and improve your odds in making your picks.

Our list of Masters Sleeper Picks below have a range of golfers and can be used to either bet on to win outright or in some cases can be looked at for a DFS lineup if you are going to try to win the Million Dollar Check.

Masters Tournament Sleeper Picks

Matthew Fitzpatrick

60 to 1 at Intertops

Many will sleep on Fitzpatrick because he played more on the European Tour before 2020 and then as he was starting to play more events in the US, the pandemic shut stuff down. Fitzpatrick is ranked in the Top 20 in the world and is an 66 to 1 bet to win the Masters. He is 4/5 in cuts made at Augusta and of all the golfers on this list of sleeper picks, he probably is my favorite to bet on especially at such juicy odds at Intertops.

Louis Oosthuizen

50 to 1 at Intertops

Oosthuizen is a guy that will at some point win another major tournament. He has won the Open Championship and has come close in other majors. With a strong field in front of him at the Masters I can’t guarantee that Oosthuizen wins his second major this week but depending on the course conditions and how others may play, Louis could hang around the top of the leaderboard and see if others drop around him.

Phil Mickleson

66 to 1 at Intertops

So I will admit that I am not going all in on Phil to win another green jacket but let’s not forget that he has 3 of them already in his closet and that Augusta National favors left handed golfers. Phil has joined the seniors’ tour this year so at this point Phil has nothing to prove to the PGA Tour community. Experience plays a big role at the Masters and we’ve seen old guys pull out a win here before so if anyone is going to do it, I can see it being Mickelson.

Rickie Fowler

66 to 1 at Intertops

Fowler probably should have lower odds but he hasn’t played all that well most of this year. However, at Augusta he has five finishes of 12th place or better and has only missed the cut once. Rickie plays this course well and he won’t go in with many expectations to win so he can just go out and play his game. At 50-1 odds to win…that’s a decent payout for a guy with a solid track record at Augusta.

Longshot Picks To Win At The Masters

Brandt Snedeker

125 to 1 at Intertops

There were a few tournaments that Snedeker was at the top of the leaderboard on the final Sunday at the Masters before losing out. His career derailed after that with injuries and now age but he has a history there of good showings and if you want a longshot to bet this week, you can make a case for Snedeker to be your guy.

Matt Kuchar

125 to 1 at Intertops

If you are going to bet on a longshot to win the Masters then Kuchar is one of the guys to look at. Odds makers are somewhat giving you a gift at 100-1 odds since Kuchar has a great career history at Augusta and is the kind of golfer that grinds out pars and gets the odd birdie as opposed to trying to conquer a golf course and put up low scores. Augusta is more of a ‘slow and steady wins the race’ type of track. His recent play in majors is a bit of a concern and he could be heading over the age cliff as we speak but again…100-1 odds can’t be ignored in Kuchar’s case. If you are playing at DraftKings, definitely use him as a sleeper pick for your lineups this week.

Joaquin Niemann

80 to 1 at Intertops

*Niemann has officially withdrawn from the 2020 Masters tournament.

Another gift from the odds makers at Intertops putting Niemann up at 80-1 odds to win. Niemann took a big step in his career last year winning his first career tournament and playing really well the rest of the year. Niemann was a golf prospect a couple of years ago and could now be catching up to the hype that he had before. He has played Augusta once before as a rookie and missed the cut but this is a different golfer playing with some confidence and I don’t see him being intimidated by some of the favorites to win the Masters tournament. I will be putting some cash down on Niemann at these odds.
